Mountains of the Massif Central
The mountains of the Massif Central, close to Aurillac take in one of the highest mountains in the area, Puy Mary at just under 2000 metres. We are riding at a height of approx 1000 feet higher than Ben Nevis. The roads to and from here are just made for motorcycles, (bicycles may be encountered on the mountain section as it has been one of the stages on the Tour de France on several occasions, the last being 2008)
